Web filter added to Bitdefender Mobile Security BETA

Bitdefender Mobile Security now has added web security functionality. The new feature uses Bitdefender Cloud services to alert users to webpages that contain malware or are fraud-related.

Links are quickly and invisibly checked against Bitdefender’s constantly updated database, and sites that may present a threat are blocked. The user can choose whether to access the blocked sites or not. If the site is reported as being ‘clean’ then the user’s browsing experience is not interfered with.

The new service does not affect battery life because all the processing is done in the cloud. Its one limitation is that, for now, it works only with the official Android browser.
