We’re a sublime alloy of intelligence, strength and willpower. We have the sharp mind of the wolf and the sleekness of the dragon, the vigilance of the alpha-male and the indestructibility of the snake’s body. We are a unique combination of symbols that fight on Good’s side.
Razvan Stoica is a journalist turned teacher turned publicist and technology evangelist. When Bitdefender isn't paying him to bring complex subjects to wide audiences, he enjoys writing fiction, skiing and biking. Razvan Stoica started off writing for a science monthly and was the chief editor of a science fiction magazine for a short while before moving on to the University of Medicine in Bucharest where he lectured on the English language. Recruited by Bitdefender in 2004 to add zest to the company's online presence, he has fulfilled a bevy of roles within the company since. In his current position, he is primarily responsible for the communications and community-building efforts of the Bitdefender research and technology development arm.
Bogdan Botezatu is living his second childhood at Bitdefender as senior e-threat analyst. When he is not documenting sophisticated strains of malware or writing removal tools, he teaches extreme sports such as surfing the web without protection or rodeo with wild Trojan horses. He believes that most things in life can be beat with strong heuristics and that antimalware research is like working for a secret agency: you need to stay focused at all times, but you get all the glory when you catch the bad guys.
Liviu Arsene is the proud owner of the secret to the fountain of never-ending energy. That's what's been helping him work his everything off as a passionate tech news editor for the past couple of years. He is the youngest and most restless member of the Bitdefender writer team and he covers mobile malware and security topics with fervor and a twist. His passions revolve around gadgets and technology, and he's always ready to write about what's hot and trendy out there in geek universe.

Ivona Alexandra CHILI
Ivona Alexandra CHILI is a Forensics Engineer in the Bitdefender Cyber Threat Intelligence Lab. She has recently graduated Computer Sciences at the Alexandru Ioan Cuza University in Iasi and is currently pursuing a bachelor's degree. With almost three years of experience in malware reverse enginnering, she aims to become a recognized professional in the field of cyber security. She strongly believes that working in anti-malware research sharpens a multitude of technical skills that would remain dormant in any other industry.
From a young age, Luana knew that she wanted to become a writer. After having addressed topics such as NFC, startups, and tech innovation, she has now shifted focus to internet security, with a keen interest in smart homes and IoT threats. Luana is a supporter of women in tech and has a passion for entrepreneurship, technology, and startup culture.
Daniel Frederick CLAYTON
Daniel's age is a closely guarded secreted, but he has admitted (in the bar) to fighting bad guys for more than 25 years. Having arrived at Bitdefender via British Intelligence, GCHQ and NSA earlier this year, he spends his time telling anyone that will listen that security is not just a 'technology problem', but a 'people problem' too. He's a strong advocate for the role of expertise-driven cyber hunting in a modern and effective security operation and can be heard laughing out loud when CISOs tell him how they have 'prevented all attacks'.
Andrei Ardelean has been doing security research at Bitdefender since his second year in university. He is passionate about computer science and engineering and believes the best way to keep you on your computer science toes is doing research in security. He likes hidden details and thinks that having his beliefs and ideas challenged is a great way to get a different perspective on a subject. When he isn't fiddling around with a computer, he likes playing sports and learning something new.
Senior Team Lead, Cyber Threat Intelligence Lab
Cristina Vatamanu specializes in anti-malware research and machine learning technologies. She spent the past seven years doing threat research at Bitdefender and developing algorithms to help fight advanced cyber-threats. She is currently doing a PhD in machine learning where she does groundbreaking research in artificial intelligence applied to malware detection.

At 12 he fell in love with C. At 17 he fell in love with Assembly and the art of pen-testing. At 23 he fell in love with AI and its applications in cyber security. Staying up to date with the latest innovations not only in the topics mentioned, but in tech in general is a passion rooted deep in his core mentality. Loves nature and meditation.
Dan Horea LUȚAȘ
Senior Research Lead, GEMMA (Generic Exploit Mitigations for Mainstream Applications)
In 14+ years of experience in Information Security (all with Bitdefender), Dan tried to grasp many aspects of this complex topic – technical (operating systems internals, networking, hypervisor technologies), non-technical (auditing of information systems, security management), defensive (malware analysis, development of advanced detection and prevention technologies) and offensive (penetration testing, vulnerability analysis) – in order to have a holistic view of the domain. He obtained several InfoSec certifications (CISSP, CEH, CISA, OSCP, OSCE). Since 2016 he holds a PhD from Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (TUCN). His current role with Bitdefender involves developing dynamic exploit detection techniques which are incorporated in all Bitdefender products. He teaches Information Systems Auditing and Incident Response & Forensics courses at a Master program in TUCN. He is the author / co-author of 5 scientific papers and 5 US patents regarding low-level hypervisor security.
Eduard Budaca is an antimalware researcher at Bitdefender. When not dissecting malware, he enjoys coding and playing video games. While perhaps too meticulous at times, he believes that digging deeper into the matter is often the only way to make sure that what you see is actually true.
